Prep boys soccer: CEC 'endures,' survives St. Cloud Tech attack
Cloquet-Esko-Carlton sophomore Collin Young scored off a header to give the Lumberjacks
Junior Elijah Aultman scored in the 10th minute and the third-seeded Lumberjacks looked like they could run away from the upset-minded Tigers.
Instead, St. Cloud Tech put a few more players forward and started challenging the CEC defenders and goalie Lucas Rauner.
We got a good free kick from Ben and it got over the defenders
It’s not the first time this postseason Young has come through for the Lumberjacks.
Coach John Sundquist said the sophomore has a “knack” for finding the goal and being in the right place at the right time.
Senior Jordan Aultman scored a third goal for the Lumberjacks in the 78th minute
Sundquist was happy with the effort of his team and the way they responded to the Tigers' challenge.
They were taking it to us, I told their coach we might have stole one today,” Sundquist said. “We were able on some set pieces to put them in, obviously, and the kids kept grinding.
